Minor victory
K has been asking for weeks, about removing the steri-strips that were put on her neck after the surgery on 8/13, and Kindred RNs keep saying things like "they'll just fall off on their own." Well, after nearly a month, Amy called the neurosurgeon's office, and was told they would have taken them off after two weeks, during the follow up appointment that K never made, because she was at Kindred. They said to get them off immediately, since they're just growing bacteria after all this time. I repeated that to the Kindred RN and she removed the strips tonight. The good news is, the uncovered wound looks pretty good back there. Had to cover it with something again, to protect it from the neck collar, but at least those strips are gone.
